Throughout her eleven-year career in public relations, Mary Paoli has been recognized for media relations expertise, exceptional writing and strategic thinking. Her diverse background includes roles in agency, corporate, and government organizations. With a keen understanding of how to work with journalists and editors, Ms. Paoli has landed coverage in some of the country's most prestigious outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure, the Los Angeles Times National Geographic Adventure and the "Today" show.
As communications manager for the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, Ms. Paoli oversaw the destination's PR strategy and was a key player in the effort to reposition Reno-Tahoe as an outdoor recreation destination. On the agency side, she served as an account supervisor for R&R Partners where she managed relationships with clients that included the Nevada Commission on Tourism, the Resort at Tanamera luxury condominium community, the Reno Orthopedic Clinic and the Nevada Discovery Museum.
After graduating from Santa Clara University in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mary began her public relations career at the height of Silicon Valley's high-technology boom. She gained a solid foundation in public relations while working in the fast-paced PR departments of two Fortune 500 corporations — Cisco Systems and Quantum Corporation.
Mary has extended her professional expertise to benefit a number of community organizations in Northern California and Northern Nevada. She served as president of the Sierra Nevada chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and also held a board position with the Reno Film Festival. She has provided volunteer services to the San Jose Cinequest Film Festival, the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Santa Clara County, The Sierra Nevada Future Farmers of America and the Reno-Tahoe Winter Games Coalition.
A native of Northern Nevada, Ms. Paoli recently relocated to Bozeman, Montana. In her spare time she enjoys hitting the road to explore new destinations in the U.S. and abroad. Growing up near northeastern Nevada's Ruby Mountains and spending years near the California coast and the Sierra Nevada, Ms. Paoli has an appreciation for the outdoors and enjoys hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and lake and ocean kayaking. She also has a special affinity for literature and film.
