Katrina Paz, a public relations consultant, was born and raised in Watsonville, California and moved to the Truckee/Tahoe area in 1998. She has extensive experience with the tourism and recreation industries, having served as the publicity director for the Santa Cruz County Conference and Visitors Council and been an account executive for the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association. Additional client work has included the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, Nevada Rock Art Foundation, Chase International Real Estate and the Big Blue Adventure Series.
A graduate of California State University, Chico with a degree in Journalism, Ms. Paz moved to Lake Tahoe after backpacking through Europe and briefly living in Switzerland. Her varied resume includes her first job as a lift operator at Alpine Meadows (in order to quickly learn how to ski). She later met her husband during an EMT class, made gourmet sandwiches in Squaw Valley and made pastries and wedding cakes at a local bakery in Truckee, before finding herself back in the world of public relations with Pettit Gilwee in Tahoe City. She has since moved to Grass Valley with her husband and new son Ari.
Ms. Paz joined the Switchback team in March, 2008 as a senior consultant. A talented writer, Ms. Paz provides writing and research services and lends her expertise in pitching and media relations. In her spare time, she enjoys running, swimming, cooking, writing and traveling.
